Social events and support

Getting involved in College events is a great way to meet friends and create unforgettable memories. From our orientation program to sports competitions, charity days to formal dinners – there are a range of opportunities to help you make the most out of your experience.

Our flagship wellbeing program, InTrinsic, ensures the fun doesn’t stop after Welcome Week! Based on the PERMA model, InTrinsic offers something for everyone – from baking and basketball, to singing and surfing – you get to explore existing interests and try new things.

Resident Advisors

Our Resident Advisors (RAs) are a dedicated team of College residents who guide you through your residential experience, helping make it a memorable one.

The team also help organise social events and activities, inter-College sports and our resident-led café, STUMPS. They coordinate student-run committees, encourage volunteers and serve as your out-of-hours Duty Officers.

At the end of each academic year, returning residents have the opportunity to apply to become an RA. This paid role is not only a rewarding way to give back to the College community, but also a valuable addition to your CV.

Events and programs

The Trin social calendar is pretty busy and we’re always trying something new. Don’t forget, not all social events are compulsory. You can pick and choose what suits you.

Here are some examples of our most recent events and activities:

  • Themed dinners on-site in our dining room, these include formal Commencement Dinners and our annual Gala Evening.
  • Inter-wing events, such as volleyball, badminton, touch rugby, art, music, pictionary and quizzes.
  • Inter-College competitions include dodgeball, athletics, swimming, tennis, soccer, Fresher Dance Fest and Battle of the Bands.
  • Day trips to Rottnest Island, the Swan Valley, theme and wildlife parks as well as to local beaches for surf lessons.
  • The annual Trin ball, which in 2024 and 2025 took place at the state-of-the-art Optus Stadium.
  • Community events such as Relay for Life and the Greatest Shave.

Our regular Open Mic Night is a great chance to enjoy talented musicians while relaxing over dinner. Plus, with events like Arts Week and NAIDOC Week, there’s always something fun and memorable to be part of!
